In-country review (ICR) is an important quality assurance step in the localization process, which is very often performed outside of a translation tool, making the whole process manual and time-consuming.
memoQ’s in-country review tool was designed to be user-friendly for subject-matter experts (SMEs) who are not necessarily familiar with the tools used in the localization industry, and to enhance collaboration throughout the whole translation-review-validation cycle.
In fact, the ICR tool is fully integrated with the memoQ ecosystem. Despite being a separate web app, PMs can manage ICR users and the ICR review step directly within memoQ projects—both from the desktop client and in memoQweb. This includes project templates and even WS API support for integration with BMS systems like Plunet and FlowFit. As a result, ICR users can access project resources such as term bases and reference files without needing to consult Excel glossary exports or open files from emails sent by the PM.
Other ICR workflows outside memoQ (PDF annotation, monolingual review, 2-column RTF export, etc.) not only add complexity and extra work for PMs, but are also prone to human errors, potential technical issues, and are more vulnerable to external security risks.
Having the in-country review step done through memoQ’s ICR tool is a major time saver for all project participants and a game changer when time is of the essence. Did someone say “short deadlines?”
